Facebook content moderators’ lawyers secure $15.6M in fe

San Mateo County Superior Court Judge V. Raymond Swope approved the deal brokered by the Joseph Saveri Law Firm that will provide at least $1,000 payouts to more than 14,000 contractors who were hired to screen violent and sexual images.

Attorneys secured $15.6 million in attorney fees for their work in a $52 million settlement to resolve allegations that Facebook inflicted psychological trauma on moderators whose jobs are to catch and remove graphic and objectionable content from the platform.
