Ex-defenders shouldn’t handle death appeal as DAs, victims’ family says

“Any prosecutor that is concerned with ethics and integrity would see the clear conflict of interest,” said Kathleen M. Cady of the Dordulian Law Group, a former LA prosecutor.

A judge plans to rule Sept. 14 on a request to disqualify whether two Los Angeles County prosecutors or the entire district attorney’s office from participating in a death penalty petition involving a man convicted of murder in 1998.
