AG charges ex-officer after grand jury declines to indict

Shortly after Attorney General Rob Bonta’s announcement, Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin issued a news release saying the grand jury returned a “no bill” in the matter of former officer Salvador Sanchez based on lack of evidence of a crime.

Despite a Riverside County grand jury's decision not to indict, Attorney General Rob Bonta has filed felony charges against a former Los Angeles police officer, accusing him of killing a disabled man and seriously injuring two others while off duty.
