Orange County DA uses school anti-DUI program to prove second-degree murder

Senior Deputy District Attorney Dan Feldman in Orange County used the defendant’s experience learning about the dangers of driving under the influence to prove he understood the potentially deadly consequences when he used narcotics before driving.

A man who in high school participated in a program to warn about the dangers of driving under the influence was convicted of second-degree murder Wednesday for hitting and killing an off-duty Costa Mesa fire captain.
