LA officials respond to officers’ vaccine mandate suit

The city should provide religious exemptions and a medical exemption for those with natural COVID antibodies gained after recovering from an infection, said Kevin T. Snider of the Pacific Justice Institute.

The Los Angeles police chief is expected to address on Tuesday a lawsuit filed by six officers who say those with natural immunity to COVID-19 should not be subjected to the city’s vaccine mandate, which requires all employees to be vaccinated by Oct. 20. City Attorney Mike Feuer responded that the suit is “more political statement” than “sound legal argument,” in a video released Monday.
