LDS Church wins summary judgment in investment funds suit

U.S. District Judge Stephen V. Wilson wrote that the church’s president expressly stated that earnings on invested tithed funds would be used to buy and develop a commercial shopping center in downtown Salt Lake City.

A federal judge granted summary judgment for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a lawsuit filed by a member who accused the church of misusing tithed funds for commercial purposes.
