US judge likely to nix suit over loot boxes in games
U.S. District Judge Beth L. Freeman found that Google is likely immune from the lawsuit under a federal law shielding internet platforms of liability arising from the content of third parties.




A federal judge signaled Tuesday that Google will not have to face a class action from players of mobile games challenging the sale of loot boxes, virtual items purchased using real money offering randomized chances to win in-game items.
