Judge nixes expert in Santa Barbara water rights case

A property owner’s motion asking the court to hire an individual expert scientific adviser was denied without prejudice.

A judge presiding over a water rights dispute in the Ojai Valley has refused a request by a property owner plaintiff to bring his own scientific expert into a case he says is about saving the Southern California steelhead trout and residents' wells.
