Felonies vacated after 46 years for man who made false plea deal at 19

San Francisco Public Defender Manohar Raju announced Thursday that Zachary Vanderhorst has been exonerated and his burglary and rape charge vacated following three years of motions and investigations by Deputy Public Defender Rebecca S. Young and pro bono co-counsel Patrick E. Murray, an associate at Keker, Van Nest & Peters LLP.

After 46 years, a rape and burglary charge have been vacated against a Bay Area man who at 19 pleaded guilty in a sentencing deal despite his claims he was innocent.
