District attorney centralizes charging throughout LA county
The system will require prosecutors in all branch and area courthouses to report to a system led by Head Deputy District Attorney Jennifer L. Snyder, with the exception of cases submitted by law enforcement agencies to specialized units such as the Family Violence and Community Violence Reduction Divisions.




Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said Thursday he has launched a centralized charge evaluation system “to ensure that the same conduct leads to similar results regardless of where a crime occurs.”
“Consistency in the initial case evaluation and filing is essential to achieving equal justice for all people in our county,” Gascón said in a statement.
