Sacramento sheriff sued over alleged ICE cooperation

“Senior officials instruct their subordinates how to contact ICE and as a result they are transferring inmates to ICE,” ACLU attorney Sean Riordan said.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California and Conrad Metlitzky Kane LLP sued Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones for allegedly violating state law by cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to detain released jail inmates who are in the country illegally.
