Judge considers 2 DAs injunction request against home service provider

Superior Court Judge Anne-Christine Massullo in San Francisco took the matter under submission Tuesday after she had previously asked the DAs for supplemental briefing and an amended injunction request.

A judge is considering a motion by the district attorneys in San Francisco and Los Angeles for preliminary injunction against Handy Technologies to stop it from classifying its California workers as independent contractors.

Chesa Boudin and George Gascón sued the company, which offers household services such as cleaning and repairs, in March. The DAs alleged that by misclassifying its workers the company is violating unfair competition law...
