Business, entertainment attorney killed by falling tree

Retired business and entertainment attorney Dennis B. Franks died Sunday when a tree fell on his Encino home. He had celebrated his 64th birthday just six days earlier.
“It’s just not anything you’d ever expect,” attorney Mark A. Lester, who described Franks as his best friend, said Thursday.
