Redondo real estate company resold foreclosed homes, AG says

Wedgewood LLC ignored tenants’ rights to stay on a property for 90 days after foreclosure, evicted tenants without just cause, ignored rent control ordinances, filed false declarations in court and cut off utilities, state Attorney General Rob Bonta said.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced a $3.5 million judgment against a Los Angeles real estate company on Wednesday for violation of rental protection laws.

Bonta said the judgment will include $2.75 million in restitution to "unlawfully evicted tenants," $250,000 in civil penalties and $500,000 on "programs that benefit California tenants."
