Attorneys in Legislature facing realities of term limits
There are 11 Democratic members with law degrees in the 40-member Senate, meaning they outnumber the chamber’s eight Republicans, including one lawyer. There are 12 Democratic attorneys in the Assembly and three Republican attorneys.
At the end of November, Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez tweeted: “Our legislative agenda for next year can be summed up in a Hamilton song verse…’Why do you write like you’re running out of time?’”
