Trade secrets suit filed over mushroom-based meat substitute

“Better Meat Co. and Mr. Pattillo were able to launch a fully operational mycoprotein fermentation facility in Sacramento and their ‘Rhiza’ product in an unreasonably short period of time (likely with low development costs) because they stole Emergy’s confidential, proprietary, and trade secret information,” wrote Jeffrey D. A Colorado company that makes mushroom-based meat substitutes sued a California company and a former researcher, alleging stolen trade secrets.
