Newsom proposes $4.9B for courts, funding 23 new judges

The draft budget also includes $34.7 million from the state’s General Fund for new technology to improve access to justice and another $33.2 million for remote access.

Gov. Newsom introduced a $4.9 billion budget for state courts on Monday, reflecting an overall state budget flush with cash. This court budget represents a $39 million increase from the current fiscal year, not including additional spending for courthouse construction.
