A voir dire questionnaire to shorten jury trials

Using a questionnaire, I am usually successful in swearing in the jury and the alternates on the first day of trial. Sometimes before lunch on the first day!

Jury trials have reappeared in the civil departments of Los Angeles County Superior Court after an absence of more than a year. Many people remain reluctant to report for jury service; those who do report must remain masked while in the courthouse.
