Armored car company sues over seizure of cannabis clients’ cash

The Institute for Justice, which is representing Empyreal Enterprises, announced the lawsuit Tuesday against the Department of Justice, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, who they allege is working with the federal government and allegedly conducting the unlawful searches and seizures.

An armored car company is asking a judge to enjoin the federal government and the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department from using civil forfeiture statutes to search their vehicles and seize cash they are transporting on behalf of cannabis dispensaries.
