After claims of DA misconduct, police brutality settlement is held

During a pretrial hearing, Nicole Pifari of Rains Lucia Stern St. Phalle & Silver moved to have the case against Stangel dismissed on the basis the DA’s office allegedly removed exculpatory evidence surrounding an alleged domestic violence dispute between Spiers and his girlfriend from an affidavit.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors has postponed voting on a settlement to resolve a civil rights lawsuit brought by a man who alleges he was unlawfully beaten by a police officer in 2019.
