State bar GC Vanessa Holton announces retirement

Holton stepped into the role of general counsel in 2015, two years before Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law SB 36, which instructed the State Bar to shed its voluntary trade association activities and focus on disciplinary and regulatory matters.
