Doctor kickback claim may not have been probed, official testifies
Dr. Timothy Ryan, a former vascular surgeon at the county-owned Harbor UCLA Medical Center, alleges in his 2016 lawsuit that his supervisor, Dr. Rodney White, punished, marginalized, and created "an intolerable work environment" for him after Ryan refused to perform an unnecessary surgery in 2014.




An official could not say under oath Monday if Los Angeles County fully investigated a doctor's claims he was retaliated against for blowing the whistle on his boss, who allegedly ordered him to perform an unnecessary surgery in exchange for kickbacks.
