Client who sued former attorney wins $47M jury verdict in Sonoma County
Brad A. Bening of Davis, Bengtson & Young APLC said he interviewed the jury, and they disregarded the evidence and instructions before coming up with their award judgment. “They went on passion and prejudice,” he said. “This is the worst miscarriage of justice I’ve ever seen, and we have a strong basis for a new trial motion.”




A casino owner who said his attorney made disparaging comments about him to gaming regulators and shared trade secrets with competitors won a $47 million jury verdict.
The compensatory verdict came down Thursday. The punitive damages phase was scheduled to begin Friday, but one of the jurors tested positive for COVID.
