SF supervisors OKs $700K for man beaten by police officer

The deal was temporarily stalled last week after a lawyer for the officer accused the district attorney of withholding exculpatory evidence.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors has approved a settlement to resolve a civil rights lawsuit brought by a man over claims he was unlawfully beaten by a police officer in 2019.

The approval issued late Tuesday comes a week after the board voted to pause the approval vote until after a closed session with the city attorney to discuss allegations of misconduct by the district attorney that arose during the officer's criminal case earlie...
