State can’t compel ex-employee’s deposition, judge says

According to the state’s motion to compel, the former treasurer’s office employee gave late and dubious excuses not to sit for the interviews.

A Sacramento County judge denied a motion by the state to compel a deposition from a former Treasurer's Office employee claiming sexual harassment, racial discrimination and retaliation. But Judge Christopher E. Krueger said he would need evidence soon that plaintiff Judith Blackwell could not testify because of a stroke.
