Attorney general, many DAs face June 7 primary challenges

Some of the biggest DA races to watch this year include Orange, Alameda and San Francisco counties. In the latter, voters will have to decide whether to keep District Attorney Chesa Boudin in office following the certification of a recall election.

As the filing deadline of March 11 approaches, candidates for district attorney are in the process of being finalized in most of California’s 58 counties for the June 7 primary, with an unusually high number of incumbents being challenged by their deputies and private attorneys.

Also on the ballot this year is the race for state attorney general. So far, incumbent Attorney General Rob Bonta’s biggest challenger is Sacramento County District...
