MOU between San Francisco DA and police chief extended through May
The extension grants more time for both offices to renegotiate a new agreement before the termination of the current MOU, which was signed in 2021 and allows Boudin to independently investigate police shootings, use of force incidents and in-custody shootings.




A memorandum of understanding between San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin and Police Chief William Scott about police investigations has been extended through May.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced the 60-day extension on Wednesday. Bonta, City Attorney David Chiu and Mayor London Breed have committed themselves to helping Boudin and Scott reach a new amended agreement.
