Snoddy’s Truth: Finding the elusive ‘get-out-of-jail’ key
I wish I could name two or three factors to look for, but alas, there isn’t a checklist or litmus test for identifying wrongful convictions. For me, it’s almost visceral: I know a suspect conviction when I see it.

On February 7, 54-year-old Earl Snoddy was released from prison after serving 27 years of a 45-year robbery sentence. He had spent more than half of his life behind bars, most of that time at San Quentin State Prison. I am now waiting for the judicial system to schedule a future hearing at which we will finally clear Snoddy's name and wipe out his conviction.
But Snoddy should never have been locked up in the first place.
