FTC likely to issue 6(b) orders to social media companies regarding deceptive advertising
When the FTC sought information from the top social media and video streaming platforms, it was simply the next step in the evolution of the FTC as an aggressive regulator in the space of consumer privacy protection.

On March 9 the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that it would hold an open meeting today (March 16) to discuss, and vote upon, several proposed 6(b) Orders. One set of the 6(b) Orders will be directed towards eight unnamed social media and video streaming platforms "concerning how they monitor and review deceptive advertising on their platforms." As such, these potential Orders will seek information on how these specific companies review advertising practices...
