Lyft scales down legal team in a company-wide reduction in force
“When people ask me why I’ve stayed at Lyft so long and what I love most about my job, the answer is always the same: it’s the people,” Lyft general counsel Lindsay Llewellyn wrote. “To the Legal Eagles leaving Lyft, you’ll always be part of the Lyft Legal Family. The bonds run deep, and I’d be grateful for the opportunity to make connections and support you however I can.”

Lyft Inc. scaled down its legal team last week at the same time that it announced a 26% reduction of its entire workforce.
A Lyft spokesperson said in an email that the legal department wasn’t “disproportionately affected from the layoffs”, but Lindsay Llewellyn, the new general counsel of the company, wrote on her personal LinkedIn page that she had to say farewell to 40 incredible members of Lyft’s legal and compliance team.
