Antitrust attorney to lead state’s oversight of petroleum market

Tai Milder most recently served two years as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, after nearly eight years in that same role earlier in his career. He also did a nearly three-year stint in the antitrust division at the California Department of Justice and two years as counsel at Robins Kaplan LLP.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signaled he will follow through with a plan to go after oil companies over gas price spikes by picking an attorney with a long history of antitrust enforcement to head a new state Division of Petroleum Market Oversight.
