Ex-manager says Smokey Robinson owes him $1M
The singer’s attorney, Miller Barondess partner Alexander Frid, tried to persuade the jury Wednesday that the plaintiff, who is not a licensed talent agent, did not do much to secure performances and engagements while he was Robinson’s manager.




Smokey Robinson’s former manager is suing him in federal court for $1 million, alleging that the R&B and soul singer and songwriter has failed to pay a commission as agreed in their contract. The trial started this week in Los Angeles.
