King & Spalding represents LGBTQ+ veterans in suit over Don't Ask, Don't Tell

Many of these veterans received discharge paperwork that identifies their actual or perceived sexual orientation. Many also received an Other Than Honorable discharge characterization due to their sexual orientation.

A group of military veterans who were discharged from service because they were either homosexuals or perceived to be homosexuals filed a lawsuit Tuesday in the Northern District of California asking for a judge to order the removal of narratives and separation codes on discharge forms that disclose the veteran’s sexual orientation.
