Judge approves $1.9M settlement between Cisco and workers

Cisco denied it violated wage and hour and other labor laws, while the plaintiffs said it did so deliberately.

A Santa Clara County judge approved a $1.9 million settlement on Friday between Cisco Systems Inc. and a class of more than 5,800 employees who claimed the company deliberately failed to pay minimum wage and overtime.

Cisco’s attorneys specified in the motion for settlement approval that the company denied all the claims, and argued that the company “would prevail on the merits” if the case had proceeded.
