The class action, filed in 2018, is based on allegations that Apple issued software updates that slowed down the performance of older iPhones, prompting consumers to purchase new iPhones early.

Apple Inc. will pay at least $310 million to consumers whose iPhone batteries lost power prematurely after a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel order that followed objectors dropping their appeal of the case.

The deal also means plaintiffs’ counsel, led by Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy LLP and Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP, will get $80.6 million in attorney...
