Suits filed by California lawyers over Maui fire pile up

Gerald Singleton filed complaints for five individuals, and said he expects to get 1,000 cases, but decided against a class action because of disparate damages.

Lawsuits are piling up against a Hawaiian utility accused of negligence leading to the Lahaina wildfires, with two class complaints filed Saturday and a complaint by five individuals filed Monday.
