Judge tells disciplinary hearing Lassen court officials were hostile

A Commission on Judicial Performance prosecutor said Lassen County Judge Tony Mallery’s complaints of hostility by court officials are irrelevant to the charges that he mistreated others.

Testifying at his discipline trial on Wednesday, Judge Tony R. Mallery said he encountered an environment of extreme hostility at the Lassen County Superior Court well before he took the bench.

In fact, Mallery said, after his election, the now former presiding judge, Michele Verderosa, warned him before he took office that he could face discipline from the Commission on Judicial Performance.
