Judge recuses from challenge to Los Angeles’ ‘mansion tax’
Superior Court Judge Joseph M. Lipner recused himself from the lawsuit challenging Measure ULA 10 days after getting assigned to the case, citing a section of the law that says that a judge shall be disqualified if he served as a lawyer for a party in the proceeding.




A consolidated lawsuit challenging an extra sales tax on transfers of high-end property in the city of Los Angeles is without an assigned judge once again.
