Sacramento residents sue to close homeless shelter, citing ballot initiative
Voters passed Measure O in November with 52% of the vote. According to the law’s ballot title, it requires the city to build more emergency shelter spaces, allocates $5 million a year for homeless services, “prohibits encampments,” and “allows residents to bring action against the city for unlawful camping or storage on city property.”
