Firm rocked by partners’ offensive emails closes
When the attorneys first broke away from Lewis Brisbois in May, they were known as Barber Ranen. However, that almost immediately came under fire when their former firm released scandalous emails to the media that implicated the two name partners, John Barber and Jeffrey Ranen, making offensive sexist, racist, antisemitic and homophobic comments.




Daugherty Lordan, the law firm formed after more than 150 attorneys abruptly left Lewis Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith LLP, has closed its doors after losing all of its attorneys to other firms. The firm cited risk, uncertainty and market conditions as reasons behind the closure.
