UCSF Medical Center to face patient data breach case

The center and the Regents of the University of California were accused of incorporating Meta Platform Inc.’s Pixel tracking technology into the university’s online patient portal and permitting the tech giant to gather sensitive patient information.

A federal judge in San Francisco ruled that UCSF Medical Center and the Regents of the University of California must face claims that it breached a contract by not keeping patient medical information confidential.
