Chinese family’s suit says DoorDash driver hit them, killing father

The question of who is liable in the event of an accident might be an issue because food app companies say that their drivers are independent contractors in an effort to avoid liability, attorney Steven M. Sweat wrote on a blog posted by his firm, committed personal injury attorney Steven M. Sweat in Los Angeles.

The wife and teenage son of a Chinese national who was struck and killed allegedly by a DoorDash delivery vehicle while sightseeing with his family in Los Angeles have filed a wrongful death claim against the app-based delivery company and the driver.
