First investor lawsuit filed against Hawaii utility over wildfire
The lawsuit was filed in federal court in San Francisco by Jennifer Pafiti, Jeremy A. Lieberman and J. Alexander Hood II of Pomerantz LLP as well as Lesley F. Portnoy of Portnoy Law Firm. The law firms are in Los Angeles.





Investors in Hawaii’s largest electric utility filed the first shareholder lawsuit against the company in federal court in San Francisco, claiming it failed to disclose how unprepared it was to prevent and respond to wildfires, such as the one that ravaged Maui earlier this month.
The fire burned approximately 2,200 acres of land and killed more than 110 people.
