Bail agent may appeal conviction for deals with inmates

Justice Leondra R. Kruger, writing for the California Supreme Court court on Thursday, reversed a 6th District Court of Appeal decision that would have allowed the agent to withdraw her guilty plea and dismiss the case against her.

An attorney representing a bail agent who lost a First Amendment challenge to her conviction for making deals with inmates to get new clients said Friday he is considering taking the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.
