Designer says Erika Girardi incited US probe to get money back

The lawsuit filed on Tuesday claims the U.S. Secret Service opened an investigation into Christopher Psaila and his company, Marco Marco, that deliberately ignored evidence of his innocence at Erika Girardi’s behest at a time when she and her husband were in financial distress.

A fashion costume designer on Tuesday sued Erika Girardi, wife of disbarred attorney Tom Girardi, saying she falsely accused him of stealing $787,000 in unauthorized credit card transactions and incited a federal indictment against him.

Attorneys for the plaintiff say they have a dossier of emails, texts and receipts proving his innocence, which led to the government dropping the charges against him in 2021.
