Ex-cop says director owes him for help with ‘The Equalizer’

The complaint filed by attorney Philip J. Kaplan in Los Angeles County Superior Court says director Antoine Fuqua arranged an oral and implied-in-fact contract to pay the plaintiff for his expertise.

A former San Francisco police officer who was a technical consultant on film and TV productions is accusing film director Antoine Fuqua of breach of oral contract and implied-in-fact contract, saying he was not paid for input on the Denzel Washington action/crime thriller “Equalizer 3.”

The third installment of “The Equalizer” movie trilogy, based on a 1980s television series, is due to be released on Friday.
