LA city dropped as defendant in Carson foul odor case

In May, Superior Court Judge David Cunningham ruled that, “Specific conduct by LA City — conduct showing causation — is not alleged. Plaintiffs need to amend to allege specific conduct.”

The City of Los Angeles has been dismissed as a defendant in cases stemming from a 2021 warehouse fire that blanketed the city of Carson in a foul odor.

“After considering the court’s ruling and guidance, the undersigned parties, in connection with each action referenced herein, hereby agree to dismiss all claims, with prejudice, against the City of L.A.,” read a stipulation signed by all counsel on Aug. 28.
