Long Beach sued over oil, gas drilling program

The lawsuit claims that the city and the State Lands Commission have never conducted a California Environmental Quality Act review of the operations or any of its five-year extraction plans.

The Center for Biological Diversity sued the city of Long Beach on Thursday, accusing it of approving a five-year oil and gas drilling program within city limits without conducting required environmental and public health reports.
