Student athletes seek class for suit over their likenesses

The defendants asserted in filings that the class lacks commonality because of “the substantial differences in the value (if any) of the name, image and likeness rights of student-athletes.”

Student athletes asked a federal judge Thursday to approve their class certification in their case against the NCAA and the Power Five college athletics conferences.
