Paraplegic concierge wins $20M from Marriott
He went back to work in 2015 as a walking paraplegic, which means that he needed a prosthetic device and cane to move about, his attorneys said. He had doctors’ orders to alternate sitting and standing, which Marriott allowed until it changed its layout, they added.




A San Francisco jury awarded $15 million in punitive damages and $5 million in noneconomic damages on Thursday to a former Marriott concierge who quit his job after failing to receive accommodation for his partial paraplegia.
